Your photos are yours
🔒 In short: Your photos are never used to train AI. They're never stored by any third-party provider. They're processed, turned into art, and immediately discarded by every service that touches them. The only place your images live is in Éphé's own secure database, under our control.
What happens to your photos
You share a photo with us. We turn it into art. That's the exchange, and it's the only one.
Your photo is sent to our AI art engine, where it's transformed into an impressionist piece. Once that's done, the photo is discarded by the AI provider immediately. No copies. No storage. No training. The provider never keeps your image, and your image is never used to teach the system anything new.
The finished artwork and your original photo are stored only in Éphé's own secure database. We control who sees them, and that's you.
Your photos are never used for AI training
This is worth saying plainly, because it matters.
Every AI service we work with has training disabled at the account level. Your photos don't go into a dataset. They don't help improve a model. They don't end up anywhere they shouldn't. We've turned off every training toggle, opted out of every program, and chosen providers that guarantee it.
If a provider can't guarantee zero data retention, we don't use them. If a request can't be routed to a provider that meets our privacy standard, the request fails rather than falling back to one that doesn't. We'd rather the system stop than compromise on this.
What "zero data retention" means
The AI providers we use operate under a zero-data-retention policy. In practice, that means your photo exists in the provider's system only for the seconds it takes to process it. Once the art is created, your image is gone. Not archived. Not cached. Not retrievable.
The technical term is "zero data retention" — ZDR for short. It means the provider processes your request and holds nothing afterward.
What about printing?
When you order a print, our print partner receives a temporary link to your finished artwork — never the original photo. That link expires within 24 hours. After that, the print partner has no access to the image at all.
Your original uploaded photo is only ever sent to the AI art engine. The print partner only sees the generated artwork, and only long enough to fulfill your order.
Where your images are stored
All of your images — originals, generated artwork, and print-ready files — are stored in Éphé's own secure database. We use signed URLs, which means even the links to view your images expire after a short window.
We control access, retention, and deletion. No third party holds your photos on our behalf.
The simple version
🖼️ Your photos go in. Art comes out. Nothing else stays behind.
