Custom Pastel Portrait

The kind of pastel portrait that used to take an afternoon and a very patient child. Now it just takes a photo.

How the studio process works —

1. Select your print format and size. Our founder's medium favorite is etching paper, but you can choose from four different print formats: fine art paper, etching paper, slim canvas (19mm) or gallery canvas (38mm).
2. Share all the details. Upload your photo, choose a background and a pose direction, and tell us what they should be wearing.
3. An artist creates your portrait digitally. After reviewing every detail, your artist creates a digital, pastel-style portrait with soft edges, natural skin tones, visible strokes.
4. A preview image is delivered to your inbox. You'll receive a preview by email within 2-3 business days to approve before anything goes to print.
5. After approval, your artwork goes to print. If you're not totally in love, you can also request one round of changes at no extra cost. When it is approved, the artwork is printed and delivered to your door.

Choose from two art paper formats — 

• Museum-quality fine art paper (archival grade)
• Rich, velvety matte finish with deep color
• Fine art paper has a smooth, matte surface (200gsm) that lets the color shine through
• Etching paper (Hahnemühle German Etching, 310gsm) is slightly heavier, warmer, and with a softly textured surface
• Arrives ready to frame
• Ships within 7-12 business days
  

Available in different canvas depths — 

• 400gsm artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and hand-finished
• Finger-jointed construction with curved-profile stretcher bars to prevent surface wear and tear
• Slim canvas (19mm) for a clean, contemporary look that sits close to the wall
• Canvas (38mm) stretched on a deeper profile, with the weight and dimension of gallery-quality work
  
• Water-based inks rated for 200+ years of display permanence
• Arrives ready to hang (no hanging hardware included)
